Where do you source your wood?

We source our hardwoods from across the northeastern United States. Our hardwoods are individually inspected to ensure the highest quality wood selections are used. Browse our hardwoods section for more info.

Is there any finishing work that needs to be done to my posts?

Your posts come fully hand sanded and ready to be stained and sealed. We recommend that your painter do a final light sanding before final applications to remove any fingerprints from handling the wood and seal the wood asap.

What do you recommend for final post preparations?

We recommend speaking to your local paint and stain experts for advice about how to finish your posts to be in keeping with your style visions.

Do you offer custom packages?

Yes, we do offer custom post and railing packages. We can supply custom newel posts, balusters, handrail and shoe. Further we can supply complete custom staircases and installation services. For more info visit our custom orders page.

How do I calculate the number of posts and balusters I need for my project?

The best method for calculating a material list is to have your railing installer measure the job and decide on the quantity of product needed.

What wood species are the wood products made of on your site?

The light posts are made of hard white maple and the dark posts are red oak with a dark stain. All posts featured on the site are 48''.
